Route Highlights Overview

Hundred-step Ladder

Hundred-step Ladder, also known as "Tiziguan," is the sole passage leading to Zongguan Fortress. Built directly against the cliff face, it consists of 136 stone steps. These steps are both high and steep, with a sheer drop of hundreds of feet just beyond the guardrails, making it the most marvelous and treacherous spot in Tianzhushan.

Tianshi Peak

Tianshi Peak, with an elevation of 1,186 meters, features a majestic boulder at its summit that resembles a lion, exuding power and grandeur. This boulder is known as the "Tianshi Stone," and the peak derives its name from it.

On the western cliff wall, there is an artificially carved stone stairway leading to the summit. Upon reaching the top of Tianshi Peak, one can look west and see Fupeng Peak and Yingzhen Peak facing each other from east to west; look northwest and see Feilai Peak and Tianzhu Peak leaning against each other; look north and see Shihan Peak and Cuihua Peak echoing each other, with Drumstick Stone and Yanyou Stone lying within full view; look southeast and see Shaoshi Peak resembling a tame little lion snuggling up to the side of the old lion; the peaks connected in a row vie with each other in beauty, with thousands of valleys competing in brilliance. The vast land and high sky make one reluctant to leave.

Magpie Bridge

Magpie Bridge is a marvel of Tianzhushan, located between the stone walls on the southwest side of Tianshi Peak, with a hollow center forming an arch. A curved giant cliff slanting downward hangs in the air like a bridge, resembling a flying rainbow. Beneath the bridge lies a deep chasm of ten thousand feet, inspiring awe and trepidation. The East Gate Route area is a place where mist and clouds gather and disperse; at dawn or dusk, when the clouds surge and the fog rolls in, passing under Magpie Bridge truly evokes the sensation of "crossing the vast Milky Way in secret."
