Route Highlights Overview

Lotus Peak

Lotus Peak, with an altitude of 1,306 meters, features giant rocks at its summit split like petals, resembling a blooming lotus. Nearby, a group of steep, towering rocks looks like lotus buds emerging from the water; the combination of "blooms" and "buds" is full of natural charm. At the top of Lotus Peak, there is a natural cave called Lotus Cave, which can accommodate dozens of people. On the southern wall, a window-like hole offers a distant view of the surrounding peaks. A plank road is built along the edge of the stone walls of Lotus Peak, which is exceptionally steep and thrilling. From a distance, it looks like a "Jade Belt wrapping around a Lotus," forming one of the most marvelous landscapes of Tianzhushan.

Standing on the plank road and leaning against the railing, you can gaze upon layers of emerald ravines and steep, sheer cliffs crafted by nature. Peering down into the bottomless abyss can be dizzying. Those with spirit may raise their arms and shout in exhilaration, feeling refreshed and carefree, while the more cautious may glance around, finding it hard to move a single step.

Tianchi Peak

Tianchi Peak, slightly higher than Flying-from-afar Peak at an altitude of 1,426 meters, is the second highest peak of Tianzhushan. It is named after the "Tianchi" (Heavenly Pond) located at its summit. The summit features a platform of about ten square meters with two small stone pits. Though less than a foot deep, the water within is crystal clear and sweet, never drying up even during long droughts; thus, locals call it "Tianchi."

The "Tianchi" is actually a common type of granite weathering pit, formed as small depressions left by mineral shedding on the rock surface are gradually deepened and enlarged by rainwater erosion and frost heaving.

The giant rock at the summit of Tianchi Peak is split into three parts, with fissures about 1 meter wide. Two stone slabs lie across these gaps, joining the rocks to form a stone bridge known as Duxian Bridge (Immortal-Crossing Bridge). There is a saying that "anyone who reaches the bridge becomes an immortal."

The outer edge of the summit platform is a sheer precipice. Standing here is a spine-chilling experience, which is why it is also called Trial-of-Heart Cliff (Shixin Cliff). It is the most ideal spot to observe the "Tianzhushan Buddha's Light."

Dragon's Ridge

Dragon's Ridge is a ridge-shaped peak that meanders southeast from Tianzhu Peak, with valleys formed by faults on both sides. As clouds and mists rise from the valley floor, the peaks drift in and out of sight like a flying dragon in the sky, hence the name "Dragon's Ridge."

Standing on Dragon's Ridge and looking around, to the south, Tianshi Peak and Fupen Peak stand tall in the distance, with Lianhua Peak resembling a blooming green lotus nestled between them. Below, Alchemy Lake lies like a bright mirror, resting quietly in the canyon between Lianhua Peak and Huishi Peak. To the west, Flying-from-afar Peak is faintly visible. Behind you, Tianzhu Peak towers above the surrounding mountains like a giant pillar holding up the sky, exceptionally majestic.

Gazing into the distance, the mountains appear as a watercolor painting of perfectly balanced shades, layered against the horizon. The Qianshui and Wan Rivers, flanking the left and right like two fluttering silver ribbons, wind around the foot of the mountains and flow grandly eastward until they vanish into the skyline and blend into the deep blue atmosphere.
