When hard-core engineering meets poetic landscapes, and rational thinking collides with creative inspiration, a deep dialogue between technology and aesthetics begins to unfold.

Recently, the eighth stop of the 12th “Challenge Cup” Anhui Provincial College Students’ Entrepreneurship Cultural Tourism Competition — Tianzhushan Campus Tour arrived at Hefei University of Technology. Hosted by the Communist Youth League of Anhui Provincial Committee and the Anhui Students’ Federation, and organized by Anhui Tianzhushan Tourism Development Co., Ltd., the event centered on the theme “Reach the Summit of Tianzhu, Paint a Chapter of Youth.” It brought Tianzhushan’s extraordinary peaks, beautiful waters, and thousand-year cultural heritage into this strong engineering university, offering teachers and students a creative cultural tourism feast from a science-and-engineering perspective.

A first sight that wins the heart

The atmosphere at the event was lively and enthusiastic, attracting large numbers of students to stop and participate.
Inside, large screens continuously played videos of Tianzhushan’s magnificent scenery alongside competition introductions. The shimmering waters of Alchemy Lake, the strange rocks and hidden paths of Mystery Valley, and the sea-of-clouds wonder around Tianzhu Peak all drew admiration from the students present.

Outside, the themed backdrop attracted an even larger crowd.
The visual image of “Reach the Summit of Tianzhu, Paint a Chapter of Youth” became a popular campus check-in spot, with students lining up to take photos, while the event’s brand visibility continued to spread across the campus.

Heritage in Motion

Traditional culture brought vividly to life

The interactive game zone and intangible cultural heritage experience area became the focal points of the entire event.
Students enjoyed the charm of traditional culture through games such as pitch-pot and archery, while laughter and conversation filled the air.
In the heritage experience area, they personally engaged with traditions such as Huangmei Opera and mulberry bark paper-making, experiencing the craftsmanship and spirit of cultural inheritance firsthand.

The big-screen interactive lucky draw pushed the atmosphere to a new peak, with cheers and applause rising one after another.
Lucky participants received Tianzhushan-themed cultural and creative gifts and left with smiles and souvenirs.
This is exactly what the campus tour is meant to achieve — bringing Tianzhushan into universities and allowing youthful creativity to embrace the beauty of mountains and waters.

Two Creative Tracks

Innovation shaped by youth

As a UNESCO Global Geopark and a national 5A tourist attraction, Tianzhushan is widely known as the “source of Anhui.”
This special competition features two major tracks: cultural and creative IP design and short-video production, encouraging young students to create cultural tourism works that combine youthful expression with market potential, based on Tianzhushan’s natural ecology, historical heritage, and intangible cultural traditions.

From the more than 400 cliff inscriptions left by famous historical figures such as Wang Anshi in Valley Spring Cultural Park, to the site associated with The Peacock Flies Southeast, known as China’s first long narrative poem, Tianzhushan offers an inexhaustible treasury of creative inspiration.
During the on-site competition explanation session, students from Hefei University of Technology displayed a uniquely engineering-oriented mode of thinking and creative perspective. Some explored the formation of Tianzhu Peak through the mechanics of geological structure; some used programming logic to imagine the interaction design of cultural IP; and some reinterpreted the linear rhythms of the cliff inscriptions through the lens of engineering aesthetics. Sparks of thought continued to emerge through their exchanges.

The youthful relay continues

This stop at Hefei University of Technology marked the eighth station in the Tianzhushan University Tour series.
The event received wide praise from teachers and students, further enhancing Tianzhushan’s visibility and reputation among young people while injecting vibrant youthful energy into its cultural tourism brand. Guided by the goals of supporting youth development, empowering tourism upgrading, and deepening university-local cooperation, the event encouraged students to improve professional skills and gain practical experience while exploring Tianzhushan’s cultural tourism value.

It now looks forward to seeing more university students use creativity and the camera lens to help Tianzhushan shine even more brightly in the new era.
