When Qixi meets Anhui’s sacred mountain, the landscape bears witness to deep affection. On August 19 (the seventh day of the seventh lunar month), the 2026 4th Tianzhushan Wedding Tourism Culture Festival and Intangible Cultural Heritage Opera Music Festival will officially open, blending Tianzhushan’s mountain-and-water heritage, local operatic traditions, and Chinese-style courtship rituals into a traditional-style romantic gathering that visitors can explore, feel, and remember.

On the event day, check-in channels will open simultaneously at the Dalongwo, Chazhuang, and Longtanhe visitor centers. All couples and married pairs may receive an exclusive Marriage Bond Pass, a special keepsake for this romance-themed check-in journey, with one scroll carrying the memory of the entire mountain romance experience

Mountain check-ins

Along the hiking loop in the mountains, six themed check-in points are arranged to connect a complete narrative of love and growth. At Magpie Bridge First Meeting, visitors encounter the legend of The Heavenly Maiden and the Mortal; at Echo Platform, they may speak their love aloud to the valley; at Resting Brush Terrace, they join Zhou Yu and Xiao Qiao in writing a marriage vow; at Sacred Peak Worship Terrace, they imitate the ancient rite of Emperor Wu of Han in making a vow before the mountain; at Trial of Hearts Bridge on Tianchi Peak, they join hands to cross a test of wind and rain; and at Liandan Lake, they follow Zuo Ci toward a fulfilled romantic promise.

Each site includes dedicated interactions with costumed NPCs in traditional style. Visitors may draw a top love fortune, write a red wish strip for romance, perform an ancient mountain-worship ritual, or share a symbolic love elixir. Professional photographers will also capture warm moments for each pair, and after completing an interaction, visitors may collect an exclusive stamp on the Marriage Bond Pass.

This check-in experience sets no rigid threshold, and visitors do not need to complete all six sites. They may freely choose any three points for participation, and by collecting any three stamps, they may go to the prize redemption area in the Xuehuli Historic and Cultural District before descending the mountain to exchange them for a Qixi-limited cultural souvenir. The more stamps they collect, the richer the gift selection becomes, allowing them to keep a uniquely Tianzhushan kind of romance as a memory.

Evening program

After the daytime mountain romance journey, the nighttime experience becomes even richer. The Xuehuli district will launch an all-day immersive traditional-style experience. From 18:00, teams of NPC performers in traditional costume will parade along the streets, moving through the lantern-lit lanes and inviting visitors to stop for interaction and photos at any time. At 19:20, the main-stage intangible cultural heritage opera performance will begin on time, featuring classical dance, traditional instrumental ensembles, Huiju Opera medleys, and traditional costume runway presentations. Through graceful singing and elegant movement, the program will interpret the poetic idea of devotion passed down for centuries in the mountains of Anhui.

With Anhui’s sacred mountain as the matchmaker, opera as the language of feeling, and the landscape as witness, this Qixi invites visitors to climb Tianzhu with their loved one, visit the six romantic realms, and enjoy the night performances. Among green mountains and glowing lights, they may write a mountain vow of their own.
