This benefit is limited to one use by the ticket holder and can be directly applied toward the first entrance ticket to Tianzhushan’s core scenic area. The offer covers key travel periods, including the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holiday period.

Qianshan was the ancient capital of the State of Wan and is the hometown of the Two Qiaos. The Huangmei musical Lakebound Dreams: Xiao Qiao’s Wedding brings together a high-level creative team from the Shanghai Theatre Academy. Based on the love story of Zhou Yu and Xiao Qiao, the production carries forward the cultural heritage of the Wan region, draws creatively on Xuehu’s nighttime scenery, incorporates Huangmei vocal traditions, and presents an innovative live performance in an Anhui-inspired aesthetic.

After night falls, six emotionally powerful acts unfold beside Xuehu at the foot of Tianzhushan. Audiences board painted boats and travel across the lake while watching the performance, becoming immersed in the remarkable musical fusion of Huangmei Opera and modern musical theater.

Rather than remaining within the grand traditional narrative of history, the production moves beyond the familiar pattern of heroes and beauties and reconstructs the story from a female perspective. Xiao Qiao’s independent consciousness and new artistic image emerge through her choices between love and affection, blood and fire, and family and country.

I. Operating Hours

Two performances are held every evening:

First performance: 19:00–20:00
Second performance: 20:30–21:30

Venue: Xuehu Pier, Xuehuli Historic and Cultural District, Qianshan City

Open a mobile map app and search for “Xuehuli Historic and Cultural District, Qianshan City” or “Xuehu Pier” to navigate directly to the venue.

Walking directions

After arriving at the district, follow the signs and directional boards. Walk toward Xuehu and continue to the pier performance area.

III. Ticket Purchase

On-site purchase

On the day of the performance, tickets may be purchased at the ticket office at Xuehu Pier between 18:00 and 20:30.

Waterborne performance safety

Lakebound Dreams: Xiao Qiao’s Wedding is a live performance staged on the water. Please take good care of accompanying elderly visitors and children during the performance. Do not lean against or climb the pier railings. Watch your step and remain alert to the risk of falling into the water.

In the event of thunderstorms, strong winds, or other severe weather, the performance may be temporarily canceled or rescheduled. The actual arrangement will be based on on-site notices and the latest official announcements from the scenic area. Please plan your trip accordingly.
